Stem Cell DeCal

Science, Engineering, and Society

About the Course

The Stem Cell DeCal aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of stem cells and their impact on science, society, and ethics. Through engaging lectures, discussions, and research activities, students will explore four key modules: Science and Biology, Engineering and Technology, Ethics and Controversy, and Policy and Advocacy.

The course is a 2-unit, Pass/No Pass program requiring participation in both the lecture and discussion sections. Topics are explored through expert guest speakers and hands-on discussions led by the facilitators. There are two independent discussion sections, but you must sign up for one, in addition to the lecture section.

The first class is on Monday, 1/27/25. We will continue accepting students into the course until 2/7/25, and on an exception-basis afterwards (email [email protected]).

How to Enroll

This is a two-unit class. You MUST enroll in both the lecture (Monday 6-7pm in 222 Wheeler) and one discussion section (either Wednesday 3-4pm or Friday 12-1pm in VLSB 2070).
